Haul: Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics

Photobucket

I'm a really big fan of Lush, but their stuff is kinda pricey so I don't splurge much on my shopping trips there :P

I bough the Buttercup gift set ( Butterball bath bomb + Honey I Wahshed The Kids soap) for my friend as a birhtday gift. I hope she likes it :) . The price of this is 78 kn (Ł6.95) and it's Lush's cheapest gift i think.

The second thing I bought is the French Kiss bubble bath for my mother as a Mother's day present. I really wanted to buy the flower one that were maid specially for mother day but they did get it yet :( . Anyways, French Kiss is a mix of lavender and extra virgin coconut oil. It smelly yummy :) Price of this is 36 kn (Ł3.85).

And I had to buy something for me too, of course! I picked up a Karma Komba solid shampoo bar. I really like Lush's shampoo bars ( I will do a review soon). This one smells like the famous Karma soap from Lush, but imo is less "heavy" . I don't really like the smell of Karma, but I was OK with this one. The Karma Komba solid shapoo bar is 54 kn (Ł4.65).

BTW! Do you like hauls? should I keep doing them?

Review: Bourjois Metallise eyeliner in Bleu clinquant

Photobucket

Since turqoise is the new "it" colour for this season I wanted to find a good blue/ turqoise eyeliner.
I decided to try Bourjois's Regard Effect Metallise in 54 Bleu Clinquant (Blue Foil) because I know Bourjois makes excellent eyeliners at a very low cost.

The Regard Effect Metallise comes in 5 shades: a black, brown, gold, blue and teal green.

The packaging is a simple, all blue, pencil with a cap. It a standard cute packaging. It comes with 1,2 g ( 0.04 oz) of product.

The great thing about this eyeliner is that it is waterproof! It can be put both on the upper lid and waterline and it doesn't hurt or make your eye watery ( as is the case with Essence's black mania eyeliner). It stay on the upper lid whole day (and I have oily lids) without any change, but on the waterline it needs a little touchup after 4-5 hours.

The colour is definately true metalic blue/ turquoise colour. It is easily applied and on the upper lid it look really opaque and gives the effect of a liquid eyeliner. The eyeliner is really creamy and pigmented so it is really easy to apply.

It is great for smudgy looks, but I can also get a really precise line if it is sharpened.

The only down side for me is sharpening. It is kinda messy and you waste quite a lot of the pencil and the sharpener is really dirty afterwards.

Price of this eyeliner is 36,90 kn (around 7$) and I think it is definately worth the price.

Tutorial: Bronze summer

I decided it's time for my first makeup tutorial.
This is a summery, shimmery look with a lot of bronze :)

Photobucket

To start, apply an eyeshadow base. I'm using Artdeco's base.

Photobucket

Apply a little on the eye and blend it all the way up to the brow bone.

Photobucket

Take Avon's Arabian glow sleek lines eyeliner in Melted bronze and apply it all over your lid. Blend the edges a bit with an eyeshadow brush.

Photobucket

Photobucket

From Essence's quad in Party animal I took a yellow and put in the inner third od the eye and blend it towards the middle.

Photobucket

Photobucket

For the middle of the eyes, I used Avon's shimmery eyeshadow in Golden vision that I used earlier. Put somne on the brush and pat it in the middle.

Photobucket

Photobucket

For the highlight, I used Manhattan's eyeshadow. The shadow name isn't written on it, but it's a light creamy colour. Apply it above the crease and up to the brow bone. Also aplly little in the inner corner of your eyer.

Photobucket

Photobucket

I finished of with a thin line of liquid eyeliner on the upper lid (Essence) and 2 coats of your favourite mascara ( I'm currently using Maybelline's Define-a-lash volume) .

Photobucket

For the waterline, I used Essence's black mania eye kohl in black.

Photobucket

I hope you enjoyed this look :)

Review: Avon Colortrend Shimmering eyeshadow - Golden vision.

Photobucket

Happy Friday! :)
Today I want to review an eyeshadow that I think is great for going out. It's Avon Colortrend Shimmering eyeshadow in Golden vision.

The packing is really cute. It is a little "jar" that carries 1 g of the product, but don't worry, it will last a long time. The eyeshadows comes in a package with a little applicator, but it's pretty crappy. I wouldn't recommend using it since this eyeshadow needs a good blending.

The shadow is, as the name suggest, nice gold colour, more on the orange side. It has a lot of shimmer, but on the lid it doesn't look like shimmer, but it gives like a foil effect.

It is easy to apply and really pigmented and I didn't notice much fallout.

Golden vision eyeshadow is really long lasting and can't be smudged easily. It tryed rubbing it from my hand when I swatched it, but I couldn't. And it wasn't only glitter that stayed, there was a lot of colour too.

I would say that this shadow will look fantastic on somebody tanned, but if you are really fair as me, you can still wear. I just wouldn't recommend putting it alone or in a thick layer.

I don't really use this eyeshadow alone because I think it's too "out there" for my complexion. I love using it with a simple brown look to make it look more special and nice for a night out. I just put it in the middle of my lid and blend it. It gives a lovely shine to the eye.

I'm planning on doing a tutorial with this eyeshadow soon which will be really bronzy and bold :)
The full price of this eyeshadow is 45 kn (around 8$) but it's always on a special so it's around 30 kn (6$). I think it's worth the price, especially if you like shimmmer :)

Review: Catrice Mineral soft powder rouge - Coral Sand

Photobucket

Hello! :)
Today I want to review a product from witch I ecxpect a lot.
I totally adore Catrice cosmetics, and I especially love their Mineral compact powder. This product is from the same "mineral" line so I really expected something fantastic. I read a few review for other shades of this product and they were all great...

The full name of this product is Catrice Mineral soft powder rouge and the shade I got is 110 Coral Sand.
What Catrice cosmetics says about this product: "Delicate powder rouge with more than 80% mineral and silk ingredients. Also suitable for sensitive skin. Free of perfumes. Dermatologically tested."
Ok...let me start the review.

The packaging of the product is really nice and basic, which I love. It contains 5g of the product, which is great amount, especially for the price which is 25,90 kn (around 5$).

Coral sand shade is, just as the name says a pretty nice coral colour that is great for spring and summer.

Texture of the blush is quite firm and I don't pick a lot of it with my brush.

My main problem with this blush is the pigmentation. I know Catrice has amazing pigmentation in their products (considering the price), but I was really let down with this shade.
Firstly, I can't pick up a lot of colour so I have to swirl my brush in the packaging a lot. Secondly, when I put the first layer on I couldn't see a thing so I had to layer it on.

After 2-3 layers of the blush the colour was finally visible and actually really nice and fresh. When I applied it my skin looked really fresh and healthy and not over the top.

Now... Later I tried using a different blush brush. This was not as soft as the previous one. I still had to swirl it around the packaging but the blush actually came on nicely this time. More pigmented and quite nice. So I definately recommed a rougher brush.

The blush is quite long lasting, as it stayed in my face the whole day.
It can be blended easily. It doesn't have any really noticeable shimmer but it you put in the light you can see some sparkle in it but they don't show up on the skin.

I would recommend Catrice Mineral soft powder rounge in Coral sand for everyday use since I didn't find it quite as good as some other blushes I have. It's kinda hard to apply, but it looks really nice on the skin.

NOTD: First using Konad = FAIL!

Photobucket

I got my Konad set in the mail today so I had to try it right away :)
I will post the pictures and what I got in the next post probably.

For these nails I combined Catrice Ultimate Nail Lacquer in shade Lost in mud with Catrice 3in1 in Almost Black.
Now, this was my first ever time Using Konad so I wasn't quite sure why it was coming out this badly.

After I have done these, I tryes to make something with other regular nail polishes and it worked perfectly. Just my luck choosing the worst possible colour to start with :/
Anyways, there will soon be more Konad posts because I really like it.

Oh yeah... my nail polish bottles look...horrible. I'm sorry xD I'm just messy that way.

Review: Lush Tee Tree Water Toner

Photobucket

I am currently using my second bottle of this toner so I thought I could do a review of it.
Tea Tree Water toner is one of Lush's bestsellers, and not without reason.
I'm sure you already heard of Lush Fresh Handmade cosmetics. If you haven't, here it is in short: Lush is a cosmetic company that uses only fresh and natural ingredients to make their soaps, shampoos, bath bombs, bubble bars and a lot of other cool stuff. Their products are vegetarian/ vegan and 100% cruelty free. For more info go on their page: www.lush.com

This toner is for normal/ combination/ oily skin and Lush says: " Tone and detoxify oily skin with tee tree, grapefruit and juniper. Take control of those troublesome pores! ..."

It is a spray bottle and it comes in 100 ml and 250 ml.

When I first got it I used it 2-3 times a day. I just sprayed it on my face and that swiped it with a cotton ball.
After a week I noticed my skin was as oily as it was before (i have quite oily skin) and my pores were smaller. I know this sounds fake, but I can assure you I'm honest. After the first week or two, i only use it once a day and it helps me keep my face fresh.
I'm on my second bottle now and my skin is definitely less oily and my face has cleared up.
It may seem a bit expensive, but it's not. It does a fabulous job and the little bottle lasted me more than 2 months! I will definitely continue using it!
The price of toner is 37 kn (3,25 Ł) for the 100 ml bottle, and 77 kn (6,35Ł) for the 250 ml bottle.
